OUR STORY

1989 was the year God called Pastor David Ruban Taylor, Founder of the Elohim Christian Fellowship, to serve him as a Pastor. The word of the Lord came to him from God's word while he was actively involved with the Trinity Full Gospel Church's Vacation Bible School Ministry. He decided to resign his post as waiter in Taj Coromandel, having served 10 years, on paying heed to God's voice tell him that he "cannot serve two masters" Matthew 6:24. This he confided in his beloved wife Christine. She encouraged him to follow the voice of God, after which Pastor David ran a church with Pastor Prabhakaran for a span of six months. Thereafter, by divine leading, Pastor David made the acquaintance of brother Robin Jonas who introduced him to Pastor Jonas and his family. Pastor Jonas's encouragement to begin a church at his residence is what sparked the inception of Elohim Christian Fellowship. Pastor David successfully ran Elohim Christian Fellowship for two years under the mentorship of Pastor Jonas. Two years later Elohim Christian Fellowship moved to another location on Perambur Barracks Road due to the increase in the members of the church. However the fellowship at Perambur Barracks Road was short lived as God had willed something unique. The Elohim Christian Fellowship then moved to Vallalar street in Ayanavaram. Since the church continued to grow, the ground floor of Grace Shops in Chetpet was lent to run the church for a while, thanks to the kind gesture of it's proprietor. In few month's time, it was yet again time to move. Pastor David took up a space on the 2nd floor on Konnur high road, Ayanavaram for fellowship. The church was run here till the year 2000, during which Pastor David was advised to merge with the Apostolic church on Ritherdon road as Pastor David had commitments to meet with on a monthly basis, to cater to a family of six members.

The Elohim Christian Fellowship ran under their leadership till 2009, the year in which the ministry's vision was rekindled, that is "To be a unique; independent church where the Pastor leads as a shepherd per se". Pastor David and family visited the People of the Way Church at Perambur run by Pastor David Shrimpton for few weeks. With the encouragement received from Pastor Shrimpton, the Elohim Christian Fellowship was revived and blessed with its new beginning and fellowship at Venkateswara Colony, Madhavaram. Thanks to the assistance of Pastor David Shrimpton during this phase. The loved ones nearby joined in fellowshipping and indeed "the good work the Lord had started was faithfully being perfected by His will". Pastor David's good friend, now a member of the Elohim Christian Fellowship, sister Heather Simon, earnestly encouraged Pastor David to find a new location. Hence the church moved to Ravi Garden in Madhavaram. In the year 2017 a well wisher and active member of the church, Evangelist Maxwell Peters came forward to build a facility to be used by the church, and ever since Elohim Christian Fellowship has been functioning in De Monte Avenue, Madhavaram. On the 5th of November 2021 Pastor David Taylor departed to be with the Lord. The church is now being run by Pastor Ezekiel Taylor along with the faithful members of the body of Christ.
